There are some people that with their beauty, creativity, hard work and unique style make you fall in love with them. One of those people is Giovanna Battaglia. I consider Giovanna as one of my personal style icons and I truly admire her. Growing up in Milan’s via Montenapoleone ,which is the heart of Italy’s fashion industry (with boutiques of all the major Italian fashion houses) Giovanna became fashion conscious at a very young age. Her first job at 16,5 ,as a model, was for Dolce and Gabbana . It was there that she became aware of what a stylist is and decided that this was her dream job. She was working as a freelance when Anna Dello Russo asked her to come to L’uomo Vogue with her. She considers ADR and Franca Sozzani as her teachers and mentors. After years of working as a contributor or editor for magazines like Vogue Italia, Vogue China, Vogue Germany, L’uomo Vogue, Vogue Gioiello, Vogue Pelle and others, Giovanna can be found today in New York working for W magazine. She believes that a stylist must be like a filter with many views and translate everyday life and art to clothes and images. Gio’s style is a hot topic in every fashion week. With a heavy use of accessories and a more-is-more aesthetic, she creates classy looks, which are very Milanese with a touch of humour and glamour. Her editorials are also int he same style. Humour, irony, elegance and surrealism are always present in her work.
Giovanna is the long-term girlfriend of Vladimir Roitfeld, the son of Vogue Paris’s ex-editor in chief and the new global fashion director of Harper’s Bazaar, Carine Roitfeld. She belongs to a group of interesting, inspiring and hard-working people in the global fashion jet set. Her hard work and milestones that she achieved over the years are an inspiration to anyone interested in working in the world of fashion and publishing. We are looking forward to everything miss Battaglia will surprise us with in the future.

One of my favourite singers, the amazing Florence Welch,is once again collaborating with the house of Gucci. Florence, known for her impeccable style and grace, was Frida Giannini’s main inspiration for the Fall-Winter 2012\13 collection. In addition to that, Giannini designed all the costumes for Florence’s tour.Just few days ago Florence and the machine performed at the LACMA 2012 Art + Film Gala wearing head to toe Gucci. At the same gala, Ginniffer Goodwin, Cameron Diaz and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley,between many more, stunned in Gucci as well . The Gucci Group, one of the biggest luxury companies in the world, is really trying its best to renovate and empower the house and with amazing ambassadors like that, we thing it’s doing a pretty good job.
Πριν από λίγες μέρες το γκρουπ Florence and the machine τραγούδησε στο LACMA 2012 Art + Film Gala , του οποίου χορηγός ήταν η εταιρεία , φορώντας φυσικά σύνολα Gucci.

Let’s be honest: In the fashion world you can find a lot of people whose style, ideas and overall aura is extremely interesting. One of them though, Anna Dello Russo, seems to outstand and create her own category. Anna is an old love of mine. Long before she created her infamous accessories collection for H&M (at selected stores worldwide from the 4th of October) and be known by almost everyone, she had already made me wonder how can a person be that fabulous. You see, Anna is not your everyday fashion maniac. She is crazy ,elegant, smart and always one step further from the rest. From her hats to her shoes , everything about her is unique. She was born in Bari, Italy as a daughter of a psychiatrist father and since she was little she was in love with fashion. When her mother told her she needed a new pair of jeans, she responded that what she really needed was a new Versace jacket. Anna has an M.A. degree in Italian Literature and Art History taken at the Bari University and attended the Domus Academy in Milan for a masters in fashion . Her career includes 18 years at Conde Nast Italia (where she was a fashion editor at Vogue and then chief editor of L’Uomo Vogue) and 6 years at Vogue Nippon as editor at large till this day. She was described by Helmut Newton as a “fashion maniac” but despite being one of the fashions elite like Anna Wintour, Carine Roitfeld or Daphne Guinness ,she is loud, excited and has an amazing sense of humor at what she does. Needless to say that Anna was one of the first who understood and really worked on the blogging explosion. These days, her blog is one of the most visited, she has launched a perfume with Yoox and a (accessories) collection with H&M. She is like a pop star, the so called Lady Gaga of fashion. I don’t know what the future may bring for Anna Dello Russo but one thing is for sure: it will be fabulous
As the virgin post in my Personas column of the blog i couldn’t choose someone other than my beloved Olivia Palermo. You see i adore Olivia not only for her impeccable sense of style, but for her grace, her aura the way she carries herself. She has been compared to the irreplaceable Audrey Hepburn a lot of times. Being the daughter of real estate developer of Italian descent Douglas Palermo and interior designer Lynn Hutchings, she grew up mainly in the Upper East Side in New York City and in Connecticut .Olivia was on the field hockey team of her school. Among others she studied media at The New School in New York. Called “the real Blair Waldorf” she made a name for herself as a socialite in Manhattan’s Upper East Side .Her rumored rivalry with Tinsley Mortimer and the blog “Social Rank” that used to stalk and bitch about UES socialites – including Palermo- have inspired Gossip Girl . When in the middle of an unfair scandal ,Olivia famously told everyone who gave her a bad time “I may be a young girl, but behind every young girl is a powerful father.” In 2008 she costarred alongside Whitney Port in the MTV show called “The City” .Although it was supposed to be a reality show , the truth is she played a character that was clearly designed to be the bitchy girl you love to hate. These days Olivia is an extremely kind person and model who has previously worked at Diane von Furstenberg and Elle magazine. Her Über handsome boyfriend, Johannes Huebl accompanies her in the front row of every fashion week and even works with her as a model like in the Tibi campaign or magazine editorials. Olivia Palermo is the ultimate it girl, front rower and elegant celebrity right now. If only more were like her we wouldn’t have to deal with the ords of trashy D listed so called stars ( hear that Snooky?)
